In 2012 we made this short film in the workshop, which follows the repair of a circa 1800 Jacobus Ball square piano, and demonstrates some of the things required to bring a piano back into playing condition.
We have made a recording of a freshly restored Dettmer square piano, circa 1815, played by Kenneth Mobbs, to give you a sample of a typical sound from a square piano of that period.
